Guy Hayes was born in France, educated in America, went to art school in London (the English one ...) and emigrated to Australia in 1965.

After virtually a lifetime spent in Sydney, working as a designer/illustrator, finally ended up in Braidwood, where he spends most of his time picture framing, too little time painting, and what time is left is devoted to (very slowly) constructing  a dwelling in Majors Creek.

And a bit of time therapeutically in the shed.

Guy also, he says, does a “bit of calligraphy..”

Guy is a master of creating images of still life and landscapes in brilliant water color and pen and ink drawings.

These are fine examples of his work.
